About
Mike Dyer

After 25 years in sales and marketing I've launched Right Coast Craft LLC as a means of sharing my expertise with savvy craft beverage and hospitality businesses, while selfishly feeding my creative appetite for bringing ideas to life.
Those in my circle know that I cannot sit still, whether that be on my personal or professional time, always thinking, always tinkering, always learning, and eager to share my knowledge with others. It's this natural drive that has helped me succeed, leading startups and globally recognized consumer brands alike. I can not only think big, but can bootstrap even the most complex idea into fruition, and this is how I will help you!
A bit of personal background... I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, attended Serra High School (fun fact: the same graduating class as Tom Brady), and have a BA in Geography and Business from San Francisco State.
While in college, I helped launch a software start-up that introduced the world to at-home digital mapping for outdoor recreation. We successfully sold the business to National Geographic in July of 2000, where I continued to work for fifteen years in numerous sales, marketing, and product management roles, lastly Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Through living in Northern California, Denver, and Florida, as well as via my travels to 49 of the 50 states, I developed a love for craft beer and brewery culture. I was in the right places at the right times to experience exciting new styles, taprooms, and trends. Eager to be involved in the industry, I founded the Tampa Bay Ale Trail, a marketing start-up that connected 80+ breweries with loyal fans and craft beer enthusiasts, and became a board member of the Florida Brewer's Guild.
Over the last ten years I've held senior leadership roles at three highly-regarded breweries: Tampa Bay Brewing Co, Untold Brewing where I was the co-owner, and Trillium.
I've lived on the Right Coast nearly 20 years, approaching that chronological tipping point of having lived here longer than out Left. I reside in Hingham and Chatham, MA with my far smarter wife, Janet, my incredible daughter, Brynn, four adopted cats, and a maniacal micro-dog. I've run the Boston Marathon 3X as well as the Chicago Marathon, each for Tedy's Team, an organization that our entire family is proud to support.
What is Concierge Inspired Consulting?
In short, honest hospitality. Anticipating one's needs and offering curated solutions without personal gain be the driving factor.
On a recent trip to London my family and I were led on a five minute walk to a tiny cafe, tucked away in an alley that we would have surely overlooked. Not only did the concierge take us there, and not simply provide directions, he asked us about our trip, why we were in town, chatted us up about the history of the neighborhood, and then personally introduced us to the cafe owner while pointing out his favorite menu items including a fantastic capuccino. He could have steered us to the complimentary lobby coffee bar, or the hotel restaurant... instead he made a lasting impression on us, while supporting a local business.
This exemplifies my approach of providing you concierge inspired consulting:
- Friendly, inquisitive and approachable communication
- Uncommon, creative solutions
- Relationship and community first approach
